Climb the "Extraplomos" Route on the North Face of Pico Veleta

Objectives:
- Experience multi-pitch rock climbing on equipped routes.
- Learn to tie the figure-eight knot and belay using the Megajul for a safe experience.
- Practice belaying a climbing partner from the anchor.
- Familiarize yourself with multi-pitch climbing equipment.
- Learn the basic climbing knots (figure-eight knot).
Target Audience: Individuals interested in guided multi-pitch climbing and enjoying the spectacular settings this type of rock climbing offers.
Climbing Itinerary on Veleta:
Departure:
- Time: 9:00 AM from the university lodge.
- Arrival: 9:20 AM at the Veleta positions.
Gear-Up: After disembarking from the shuttle, we walk along the Verdón trail to an area where we gear up, away from the wall.
Climb Start:
- We begin with an inclined dihedral on grade IV and V terrain.
- Progressing leftward, we reach another dihedral.
Ascent:
- After climbing the second dihedral, we move diagonally to the right.
- We position ourselves below another dihedral to climb.
Traverse and Rappel:
- We traverse a ledge to reach the 6b/A0 pitch.
- We continue leftward along a sloped visor.
- A 5-meter rappel follows to continue the climb.
Final Ascent:
- We climb a sloped slab, passing three pitons.
- The Veleta overhangs are tackled one by one.
- We reach the "balcony" for the iconic photo with dangling feet.
Summit: A descending traverse to the right leads to the last dihedral ascent and the summit.
Rest and Return:
- At the top, we enjoy the scenery, take photos, and organize the gear.
- We return to the Veleta positions (20 minutes on foot) to catch the reserved 5:15 PM shuttle.
Alternative: If the shuttle is unavailable, the descent to the university lodge on foot will take approximately 40 minutes.

- Basic multi-pitch climbing equipment.
- How to gear up.
- How to rope in.
- How to unclip the rope.
- How to clip the rope.
- Belaying with a Reverso.
- Cross-checking.
- Knots: figure-eight loop.
Requirements:
- Must be of legal age.
- Intermediate activity; prior experience required.
- Normal physical condition and agility to climb a route of 6a+ / 6b difficulty over six to eight hours.
- Previous experience: Required.
- Prior training: Not required.
- Difficulty level: Intermediate (6b / A0).
Required Gear:
- Comfortable clothing appropriate for sports and the season.
- Backpack (~30 liters).
- 1L water bottle.
- Food.
- Sunscreen.
Start Time: According to availability (see reservation calendar).
Languages: Spanish and English.
Meeting Point: University Lodge, Sierra Nevada, 18196 Estación de Esquí, Granada.
Exact location and meeting time will be decided in the days prior to the activity to ensure optimal conditions.

Monday to Friday:
- Up: 8:00, 9:30, 11:00, 12:30, 15:00, 16:30, 18:00.
- Down: 8:30, 10:00, 11:30, 13:15, 15:45.
Weekends:
- Up: 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:30, 15:00, 16:30, 18:00.
- Down: 8:30, 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 13:15, 15:45, 17:15, 18:45.

Certifications
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation or modification requests must be made by sending a message from the booking page on MiReservaOnline.es so that the date and time of the request can be recorded in writing.
99% of the amount paid will be refunded (with a 1% administration fee) if the cancellation is made at least 7 days before the start of the experience.
No refund will be given if the cancellation is made within 7 days prior to the experience (unless there is medical proof), or if the client does not show up.
