- Know the equipment for multi-pitch climbing.
- Know the basic knots for climbing (eight knot).
Target group: People who want to get into guided multi-pitch climbing and enjoy the spectacular environment that this type of rock climbing offers.
Activity programme:
We will leave the university hostel on the 9:00 shuttle, to report to the Veleta positions at around 9:20. Once we get out of the van. We start walking along the verdón until we reach a plane where we will equip ourselves separately from the wall.
Once we are ready, we start to climb up the characteristic wall with the red rope on the plate that indicates the left turn of the route. We position ourselves below the famous ‘lizard step’, which we literally have to crawl over to pass through this balcony with a low ceiling. A traverse to the right leaves us on the vertical of what will become the passage of the route. A sixth degree dihedral where you can still see some nails. Now we are left with a flat plate where we gain metres to get in front of a wall that forces us to go to the left. Continuing on we progress along a pleasant rock that leaves us on top of the face of the wall. From here we only have to climb up a steep slope and then we reach the summit.
Once at the top we take photos and enjoy the scenery, organising all the material. We now have about 20 minutes to walk back to the positions of the weather vane to catch the reserved 17:15 shuttle that is not waiting, and if there are no places, we have to walk down another 40 minutes to the university hostel.
