Horse riding route in Tabernas: The desert, at sunset

Enjoy a ride in the Tabernas Desert like a cowboy... on horseback. A unique landscape considered as the driest one in Europe, this area is one of the most important set of hundreds of film productions such as Indiana Jones, Game of Thrones, Exodus, The Sisters Brothers or The Crown, among others.

Once the reservation is confirmed, we will contact you to give you the proper instructions in relation with the activity and with the meeting point.

On the day of the tour, once your arrival at the ranch, welcome and delivery of the helmet and back protection. Headlamp (only for afternoon/evening horseride. November, December, January). Allocation of your horse.

If you are a beginner, there is a short training session to receive basic instructions and the rules for correct and animal-friendly handling. Then, start the tour that you will enjoy according to your level (supervised by the accompanying instructor at all times).

If your level is amateur or high level, the small training will not be necessary.
In the case the levels of the participants are varied, the instructor will decide the correct pace to follow in order to guarantee the safety of all participants.

The route crosses an open area of the desert, located at 1 km from Tabernas, with a view of the mythical Llano del Búho and la Tortuga, places known for their particular geological formation and for the amount of filming that takes place there each year.

Along the route, small stops are made to explain the natural environment and the most relevant aspects of nature, geology, history and cinema.

If you are an amateur or an high level and you want a longer ride tour or with other characteristics, do not hesitate to contact us and tell us what your expectations are. However, we recommend that you take the "Desierto de Ley" route if this is your first time in Tabernas. It’s perfect for a first contact with the Desert of Tabernas.

A minimum of 4 participants is required for this activity. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, you will be offered an alternative or 100% of the amount paid will be refunded.
