- Identify areas for improvement in lead climbing on single-pitch equipped routes.
- Practice basic progression and safety techniques for rock climbing in a practical and secure way.
- Learn to belay a partner climbing lead or on top rope.

- Safely pass the rope through the anchor.
- Become familiar with sport climbing equipment.
- Learn the basic knots for sport climbing.
Target Audience: For those looking to refresh or learn sport climbing skills on rock or artificial walls.
Course Program:
Meet and Greet: We’ll meet at the sector "El Marsupio" to assess individual knowledge of climbing progression and safety on rock.
Practical Training: We’ll proceed with training on areas needing improvement, following an initial review.
Continued Training: We’ll continue with practical training for up to four hours, alternating roles as climber and belayer while gradually introducing new concepts and practicing what we’ve learned.
Course Content:
- How to gear up.
- How to tie in with a figure-eight knot.
- Advanced belaying techniques with a Grigri.
- Basic movement techniques.
- Techniques for clipping and rope management.
- Cross-checking.
- Passing the rope through the anchor in a doubled configuration.
- Knots: figure-eight on a bight and follow-through figure-eight.
- How to grip the wall with all four limbs and dynamically secure a fall.
- Passing the rope through the anchor in both single and double configurations.
- Rope handling and guidance.
- Top-rope and mock lead climbing.
- Lead climbing.
- Setting up a top rope.
Requirements:
- Must be over 18 years old.
- Low technical difficulty and physical demand.
- Entry-level; no prior experience required.
- Normal physical fitness and agility are necessary.
- Difficulty is adapted to the participant’s physical and technical abilities.
- Motivation to learn and enjoy the experience.
- Maximum age: 70 years.
- Maximum weight: 264 lbs (120 kg).
- Not pregnant.
- Not affected by altitude sickness.
- Not suitable for wheelchair users.
- No vertigo.
- No recent surgeries.
- Proper footwear required (no sandals, hiking sandals, Crocs, or clogs).
- Prior experience: Not necessary.
- Prior training: Not necessary
- Difficulty level: Beginner, grades III, IV, and V.
Required Equipment:
- Technical clothing suitable for the season and activity (fleece, windbreaker, waterproof and breathable jacket, gloves, etc.). A lightweight fleece or windbreaker is useful, even in summer.
- Comfortable clothing that isn’t tight or bulky.
- Backpack (40-45 liters).
- Approach shoes or athletic shoes.
- 1L water bottle.
- Food (sandwich, bars, snacks, fruit, nuts).
- Sun protection (sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm, hat or cap).
- Headlamp with batteries.
- Thermal blanket.
- Camera or phone.
- Notepad may be useful.
- Hiking poles may be useful for activities with a long approach.
- Climbing helmet.
- Climbing harness.

- 2 locking carabiners.
- 1 HMS locking carabiner.
- 1 belay device (Grigri type).
- 1 single rope (80 m).
- 9 quickdraws.
- 1 sewn HMPE sling (60 cm).

99% of the amount paid will be refunded if the cancellation is made at least 48 hours before the start of the course.
