Alcalá la Real is a small town of approximately 20,000 inhabitants where you can enjoy a variety of activities. You can visit our main monument, La Fortaleza de La Mota, the San Marcos Viewpoint, or take the Zumaques Route. In addition, you can engage in wine tourism by visiting our winery, located on a plateau two kilometers from Alcalá la Real, in El Paraje de El Cascante, with extraordinary views of the Sierra Sur of Jaén and the Valle de la Fuente del Rey.
The winery and vineyards blend beautifully into the landscape, where a magnificent Christian watchtower known as Torre del Cascante stands out.
The experience includes a visit to the vineyards and all the facilities, such as the grape reception and wine production area, the aging and maturation section, the pressing room, and the grape-crushing area. After this explanation, we move on to an introductory wine-tasting course featuring three of our own wines, accompanied by a tasting of several typical regional appetizers such as olives, salchichón, chips, and more.
This guided tour will allow you to discover the intricate world behind wine, with curiosities, anecdotes, and personal stories.
Marcelino Serrano, the viticulturist, has been a vineyard keeper since childhood, working alongside his father to care for the family’s and neighbors’ vines. He has studied viticulture and enology at Cifa de Cabra (Córdoba).
Blanca María Serrano, the enologist, is also an Agricultural Food Industries Technical Engineer and holds a degree in Enology from the University of Córdoba. She is responsible for wine production, overseeing its aging process, and its commercialization.
Together, we strive to restore the prestige our ancestors once enjoyed. We are bringing back, after 20 years, grape varieties that were cultivated in the Middle Ages, from which highly prized wines were made, even appreciated by the Royal Court. They were renowned throughout Spain. We produce small batches in an experimental field, dedicating much time and care to them.
