This Introductory Single-Pitch Sport Climbing Course is designed for individuals who are new to climbing or wish to gain autonomy and confidence in their outdoor or indoor climbing activities. No prior experience is required, and safety is always prioritised in a fun and enjoyable manner.
The course takes place mainly in natural and national parks in the province of Granada. These are locations of great beauty and natural value, such as the Sierra Nevada National Park, the Sierra Nevada Natural Park, Los Cahorros, or the Sierra de La Alfaguara.
Objectives:
- Learn to lead climb independently on single-pitch bolted routes.
- Perform basic self-rescue techniques to handle incidents safely and effectively.
- Learn how to belay a lead climber or top-rope climber.
- Safely thread the rope through the anchor.
- Familiarize yourself with sport climbing equipment.
- Learn basic knots for sport climbing.
Target Audience: Individuals interested in learning rock climbing on natural rock or artificial walls.
Course Program:
The course lasts two days, with eight hours each day, so you can start climbing on your own.
Day 1:
We will meet at the Rock and Bloc climbing gym for a one-hour introduction to climbing materials, equipment, and safety techniques. We will then continue the training for the rest of the day on the climbing walls.
We will take a one-hour lunch break and continue in the afternoon.
Day 2:
We will meet at a designated location, either the Cahorros area or the Sierra de la Alfaguara, depending on the season. From there, we will walk to the climbing sector, where each participant will practice the skills learned the previous day. We will take a one-hour break to eat the food we brought, and in the afternoon, we will focus on self-rescue techniques.

- Self-rescue techniques: receiving gear from the belayer and safely lowering from a single point.
- Knots: Prusik and double fisherman.
- Tips and tricks for placing the quickdraw on the first bolt from the ground.
Requirements:
- This activity has a medium technical difficulty and requires a medium physical effort.
- It's an introductory course, so no prior experience is needed. A normal level of physical fitness and agility is required. The difficulty will be adapted to the student's physical and technical capabilities.
- Willingness to learn and enjoy the experience.
Required Equipment:
- Appropriate technical clothing for the season and activity (fleece, windbreaker, waterproof and breathable jacket, gloves, etc.). A light windbreaker or fleece is useful, even in summer.
- Comfortable clothing that is not restrictive or bulky.
- Backpack of 15-30 liters.
- Approach shoes or athletic footwear.
- 1-liter water bottle.
- Food (sandwich, bars, snacks, fruit, nuts).
- Sun protection (sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm, cap or hat).
- Thermal blanket.
- Headlamp and batteries.
- Camera or phone.
- A notebook may be useful.
- Climbing helmet.
- Climbing harness.
- Climbing shoes.
- Personal anchor system (Multichain) with locking carabiner.
- 5 locking carabiners (1 HMS).
- 1 belay device (Reverso/ATC).
- 1 double rope (60 m).
- 9 quickdraws extendable to 60 cm.
- 1 extendable quickdraw with 120 cm sewn HMPE sling.
- 2 slings (60 cm).
- 1 sewn HMPE sling (120 cm).
- 1 cord (5 m; minimum 7 mm if polyamide, 5.5 mm if Kevlar or Aramid).
- 1 Tibloc.
- 1 Micro Traxion.
- 1 set of Totem Cam-type friends.
- 1 set of DMM Wallnut-type nuts.

You may book the activity individually, but a group of at least 2 people is required to carry out the activity.
If the minimum number of participants is not reached, you will be notified and your payment will be refunded.

Certifications
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation or modification requests must be submitted via a message from the reservation page on MiReservaOnline.es to ensure written documentation of the date and time of the request.
A 99% refund will be issued if the cancellation is made at least 48 hours before the start of the course.
No refund will be given if the cancellation is made less than 48 hours before the start of the course, or if the client fails to show up.
